SEO for a Service Company Website: What Actually Moves Rankings - 5Stacks Blog

Service companies rank when searchers find a page that matches the job: “web development Ahmedabad,” “custom CRM,” “website cost.” Stuffing every keyword on the homepage does the opposite. This is the approach 5Stacks uses on client sites and on 5stacks.in.

What pages a service company needs to rank

  • One homepage that states who you help and where you work.
  • A service page per offer, not one vague “solutions” blob.
  • Case studies with real outcomes and a path to contact.
  • A blog that answers questions you already get on sales calls.
  • Contact, terms, and privacy so the site looks complete.

If a service cannot earn its own URL and FAQ, it is not ready to rank.

How to write titles and descriptions

  • Put the search phrase near the start of the title when it reads naturally.
  • Keep the title unique. Do not clone the same suffix on every page.
  • Write the description like a search snippet: what the page is and why click.
  • Fill these in your CMS on every important URL. Defaults are a fallback, not a strategy.

Google discovers pages through links. Point footer and in-article links at real service URLs. From a blog, link to the matching service and a relevant project. From a case study, link to “want a similar project” and the service you sold. That is more useful than a wall of tags.

What technical SEO should be in place

  • HTTPS, a canonical tag, and an XML sitemap submitted in Search Console.
  • One H1 that matches the page.
  • Fast mobile layout and compressed images with alt text.
  • FAQ schema only where you show real FAQs.
  • Noindex on thank-you or error pages.

Technical SEO will not save thin copy. If you want help applying this to your own site, contact 5Stacks. For our own work, we keep editing titles and FAQs in the CMS instead of treating SEO as a one-time plugin install.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do meta keywords still matter?

Google does not use the keywords meta tag as a ranking signal. Unique titles, descriptions, and useful headings matter far more. We still store keywords in the CMS for your own organisation.

How fast will we rank?

New pages can take weeks to appear and months to compete for hard terms. Consistency beats a one-off blog dump. Pair content with a site that is fast, crawlable, and linked from your service and contact pages.
